Logan earns his Black Belt!

Congrats to Logan on winning his Black Belt at the Budokwai on the 30th April! The Budokwai is the oldest judo club in Europe and has been the centre of excellence for the sport of judo for nearly 100 years.  Logan was only 16 but beat all five opponents by ippon, displaying great skill to defeat fighters ranging from 80 to 110kg despite only being 79 kg himself. Jack takes Silver at the National Schools Champs

Jack Williams thought in the National Schools Championships in Sheffield and came away with the Silver in the over 60kgs, years 6-7. Jack was very unlucky not to get Gold but a great result fighting larger fighters than himself having just sneaked into the top weight category at 61kgs! Josh Richter fought in the U66kgs for years 12-13. Josh won his first fight with an Ippon throw within 12 secs….

2 New Dan Grades

Congrats done to Remy & Josh on gaining their Dan grades this weekend! Both went off to High Wycombe to be examined on their black belt theory where they were required to demonstrate any of 40 different throws, 30 ground work techniques and 12 linked sequences. BJA Schools Nationals 2019

Great results from Markos, Josh and Olivia who attended the BJA National Schools Championships in Sheffield this weekend.
