Well done to both Chase and Hunter who took a huge step up in their second only BJA competition to compete in the West of England International Open. Chase fought excellently, narrowly missing out on a medal while Hunter made the final and came away with the Silver!
Well done to Chase and Hunter who had a great day at the National Independent Association of Independent Prep Schools Championships! Both won Gold medals with throws the cameras had trouble keeping up with! Students from Monkton Combe, also coached by Pete, attended and in total Bath came away with 5 Golds and 2 Bronzes!
Well done to Ralph who travelled up to Kidderminster this weekend for the Samurai Orange Belt and Under competition. Ralph got off to a great start, winning his first fight within five seconds with a beautiful ippon throw! He also won his next fight but had to retire injured in the third and so came away with a well deserved bronze medal.

Ethan, requiring just one win to gain his second Dan, opted to continue and ended the day winning 7 contests all by Ippon, winning his line-up and then stopping two others in their lineups. Ralph travelled to Wolverhampton to take part in a very competitive British Schools Midlands Championships. This was Ralphs first experience of competition judo and he put in a great performance, winning by Ippon throws all the way to the final!

Jack Williams thought in the National Schools Championships in Sheffield and came away with the Silver in the over 60kgs, years 6-7. Jack was very unlucky not to get Gold but a great result fighting larger fighters than himself having just sneaked into the top weight category at 61kgs! Josh Richter fought in the U66kgs for years 12-13. Josh won his first fight with an Ippon throw within 12 secs….

Congrats done to Remy & Josh on gaining their Dan grades this weekend! Both went off to High Wycombe to be examined on their black belt theory where they were required to demonstrate any of 40 different throws, 30 ground work techniques and 12 linked sequences.
